Lost Harmony Weekly update #9

Last week was spend mostly on polishing, that means sound effects, visual effects, a lot of animal interactions and tunning of the environment.

Sound is still a work in progress. For music I setup a custom component on player that has two sound players, one is always in the foreground and one completely quiet. Whenever player moves in a specific location it will trigger transition between these two sound-players, it’s a blend that takes about 0.5 seconds. It will need quite a bit of tweaking, but it does it’s job. Sound areas:

Animal interactions is starting to nicely emerge. For example Wolf has 10% chance to start howling, which will call other wolfs to come to him and howl as well. Then 10% chance he will chase chicken. If neither of these are go into effect and wolf is neither hungry nor sleepy, he will just randomly walk around.

You won’t find any robots in the first area except one, that has a story to tell you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

When it comes to sound effects, it’s starting to shape up, but taking its time. Bird wing clapping is now added, but it sounds a bit unnatural whenever there are no other sounds presents, so that’s something that needs to be fixed. For now I am thinking about some ambiance. It sounds best when you are sitting next to other birds flying around buildings.
